Tell Me About Colombia!
Lately I’ve had people asking me to write more about Colombia. Of course, I can’t wait to write more about Colombia. The reason I haven’t been writing much is because I’ve been pretty much hanging out in Medellin for the moment. Really trying to get settled in more than anything now that I’m living here. Also, there’s so much being done here in Medellin that I kind of feel like I’d be wasting my time and yours by writing too much about this great city. Instead, I’d like to share with you some other great resources that you may find useful if you want to know more about Medellin or Colombia.
This is probably one of the best resources out there for people wanting to know Medellin. He not only has tons of great resources on his blog about Medellin, but he also writes about other pueblos and events going on in Colombia. Oh yeah, he’s written a travel guide specifically for Medellin for anyone seriously planning to visit.
This site is from a good friend of mine. What really makes this unique is that it’s not targeted towards foreigners. Andrew is an English professor here who decided to create this website to encourage his students to discuss topics in English with vocabularies that they otherwise wouldn’t use. It’s still packed with lighthearted news that anyone interested in visiting Medellin might find useful.
For The Ladies Out There
God only knows why I have female followers to begin with, but I do. And I’m not just talking about my mother. So for anyone interested in a woman’s take on Medellin or Colombia in general, head over to Jasmine’s travel blog. She’s also written about many other locations over the years, but her most recent stuff is all about Colombia. From choosing an apartment where she can keep her dogs, to accessing remote pueblos, Jasmine has done a great job creating information and expressing life here.
I’m not going to dig too deep into this one. I am not personally endorsing these guys and sometimes I think they have ass-clowns writing their stuff. But it is a wealth of information about the going-ons here in Colombia and is generally reliable.
For those who read my blog here in Colombia and elsewhere in the world, please contribute any other English written resources you may find helpful to anyone considering visiting Colombia. And of course, my other more generic travel planning suggestions still apply.
HOW DID I FORGET??? A special FaceBook page for the guys!
UPDATE: One more good resource. It is an in-depth Colombia Travel Guide. Something I went through before coming to Colombia but had forgotten about since.
