My third day at the Barranquilla Carnival
On my third day at the Barranquilla Carnival, I wanted to do something different. Unfortunately, the hotel staff didn’t recommend that. I looked over the calendar of events and went to the receptionist. There were events at noon, 1 PM, and another parade at 2 PM. The receptionist insisted that the noon and 1 PM events were expensive, far away, and not very good.
I was off to another Barranquilla Carnival parade!
But first I wanted to take a nap. I woke up around 1 and got another call from Gonzalo. It was almost 2 before I got going and it took me about a half an hour. By the time I arrived, the parade was starting and I was locked out of the cheap seats. I stumbled around for a few minutes looking for a good set of bleachers. I finally found a set without a line and paid the 20,000 pesos ($12 USD) for entry. It wasn’t nearly as much fun on the “rich” side, but I got some much better pictures this time around.
