I’m not going to go into a lot of detail here. Being able to watch the fish several feet under water while having a drink and listening to music was nice. I found myself many times more interested in watching the fish than what was going on at the bar. And if you happen to have been in Bocas Del Toro around September and found an old, fat, drunk white guy stripping down to his boxers and diving into the water at 2AM, it most certainly was not me. Unless you call for an integrity check, in which case I may be required to change my story.
The atmosphere was good sometimes. Some live music here, drunk social setting there. Not all bad, but not terribly exciting. My favorite bar didn’t even have a great beachfront setting, but it had a fantabulous pulled-pork sammich!!! And classic rock music most of the time.
Bottom line… If you’re in Bocas Del Toro, you’ll see the bars. I hope you can take better pictures than I did. If you’re not there, I’m sure you can find the same thing at some other Caribbean hotspots.
